Message	was soldered to the + terminal of the power connector. Look at what its soldered to: Back side of F1 (Fuse 1 mayhaps?) I bet the original shorted out and the previous owner didnt have an SMD fuse and instead created the bypass. See what happens if you connect that wire back up and apply power... I bet it'll come on. (unless there's some other stuff wrong too) My $.02
